Make sure to drop by the Ocean Park Community Association's Recycling Fair even if you don't have recyclables to bring in! You'll learn more about better recycling methods, how to reduce your household waste and how to remove waste from our nature areas.

We have representatives from the David Suzuki Foundation, Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society and a kids zone with an interactive recycling game. Kids that participate receive a reward!

We also have lots of great info materials from Love Food Hate Waste Canada, Product Recycle and the Great Shoreline Clean-Up.

Don't forget to pop by Ethical Addiction Apparel for a delicious BBQ and great deals at their storefront!

PS: You might also see our good friends from Ocean Park RBC doing the storm drain marking out on the streets! So much good stuff going on in Ocean Park this weekend!

We’ll miss a dear friend, Mike Powley

We’re sad to report the passing of Mike Powley, a well-regarded friend and neighbor, on August 22 at Peace Arch Hospice. Mike and his wife Rosemarie lived in the heart of Ocean Park Village and Mike gave a lot of his time and energy to local Ocean Park groups and events. OPBA’s first website developed thanks to Mike; he willingly shared his ideas and expertise to develop the association and support local business and residents.

We’ll miss him.

No service by request; those who wish may send donations to White Rock Hospice, Attention: Residence Fund in his name.

NEXT OPBA MEETING: Thurs. Aug 9, 9am!
