Stay up-to-date with Ocean Park News

Did you know there is another way to receive Ocean Park news and activities updates? There is! Join Community Connect and you will receive a monthly Ocean Park Community Association activities e-blast. The monthly digital publication keeps you informed on what’s coming up and any important issues in the community you should be aware of. This form of communication is really the best way to know you’re in the loop for all things Ocean Park! Take a look at our last edition here. And, if you would like to join our mailing list, sign up for Community Connect here.

Break-Ins from Homes to Cars Happening in Ocean Park

A steady stream of messages have come in from local residents warning of thieves who appear to be very active right now. From cars taken right off the driveway, tools stolen from cars and houses broken into, it seems Ocean Park and surrounding areas are being targeted . We welcome the community to continue to keep each other aware of these acts and remember to always report any suspicious activity to the non-emergency police line at 604-599-0502. There more instances we report the more resources our community will receive to monitor this type of crime.

New Pre-school Program at Crescent Park Annex

The Ocean Park Community Association was recently notified of a new pre-school program taking place at Crescent Park Elementary Annex. The program (which has already started) is free to the public and is geared towards 3-4 year olds. Children will get a taste of early learning in this great heritage building. This program is by parent participation. Get all the details in the flyer and check out some photos of the Annex on twitter.

Do you Know THIS Amazing Family?

Did you know that this year, the First Place winners of our First and Second Amazing Race have offered their insight to help the Ocean Park Community Association design this year’s event challenges? They sure are! The Tyler Family, (who retired from the Amazing Race at last year’s event) have given us some AMAZING ideas for this year. Hurry up and register, before it’s too late! Monday, February 8 at 1:00 pm the Village will be all sorts of crazy! email:

Amazing Race Cheer Squad!

Don’t feel like racing in the Amazing Race, but do feel like watching the participants come through the finish line? Join us and be part of our cheer crowd! Enjoy some concession fare prepared by the PAC crew at Ocean Cliff Elementary (proceeds go back to the school to purchase lego for the kids) and bring your noise makers to welcome the racers back! The race starts at 1:00 pm and usually sees racers crossing the finish line by 2:00 pm.

Street Sports – We Need Your Input!

The Ocean Park Community Association is considering a new project geared towards encouraging tweens and teens to play sports in a safe and visible environment. It was recently brought to the boards attention that many local kids cannot play safely on their streets, either due to high traffic volume or simply an unsafe street. The consideration of allowing youth to play street sports at the Ocean Park hall parking lot during times when the hall is not booked has recently been discussed. What are your thoughts? Is this a good idea? Would you consider helping to arrange this program? We would require a rotation of parent volunteers to go up to the hall and mark off the parking lot as well as get out the hockey nets etc. Let us know your thoughts/concerns! Anything is possible when people are willing to help.

Have you Renewed your Membership?

Annual renewals for the Ocean Park Community Association are now due. You will now find membership under the Community Connect page, as this is the new membership program the Ocean Park Community Association has just launched. Paying your annual $25 membership fee is now even easier with the addition of a new Paypal option on the website. You’ll also notice an online brochure which hi-lights the benefits of being part of your community association. As usual you can also drop off your payment in the secure mailbox at the Ocean Park Hall or send it in via cheque to 1577 128 St, Surrey, BC V4A 3T7. Thank you for supporting the Ocean Park Community Association.
