The Ocean Park Community Association was busy this weekend with three Halloween events at the hall from Friday to Saturday night! The Spooky Forest hosted by board member Nicole Nelson was a great success with over 100 kids touring the spookified backyard of the hall and raised over $300 for the Laronde PAC. The following day the association hosted the Annual Halloween Parade around Ocean Park Village – which was it’s usual success. Thank you to all of the participation businesses and especially to our event sponsor Schill Insurance. On Saturday night the Association hosted an Adults-Only Halloween Dance at the hall, with live music from The Retrogrades. The dance was a FUNdraiser for holiday lighting around the village and was a howlin’ good time. Peruse the gallery of Halloween pics from the weekend below!
Get your best Halloween costume ready for the first ever adults-only Halloween Dance hosted by the Ocean Park Community Association on Saturday, October 29th at 7:30 pm at the Ocean Park Hall (1577 128th Street). Enjoy live music by local band The Retrogrades, playing the top Rock n’ Roll hits from the last 4 decades. The Haunted Forest at Ocean Park Hall has been created specifically for older children who have retired from the Annual Halloween Parade! Kids can visit the hall on Friday night, October 28th from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm and tour the spooky backyard. Be prepared to scream! Entry into this event is $2 and all proceeds will go towards the LaRonde PAC.
The 6th Annual Ocean Park Village Halloween Haunt takes place on Saturday, October 29th at the Ocean Park Hall. The parade around the village begins at 12:30 pm sharp! Please meet in the parking lot of the hall and follow the Halloween mascot (the sasquatch) as we trick-or-treat at storefronts. Post-parade activities at the hall include popcorn and water provided by Schill Insurance, along with short Halloween movies and spooky decor!
Board members from the Ocean Park Community Association along with community members spent last Saturday, July 16th removing invasive morning glory from the mosaic area of Kwomais Park. The morning glory had spread so fast it had taken over the rose hip bush, strawberry plants, salmon berry bushes and other native plants that had originally been planted. Invasive Species work parties are scheduled as needed through the spring and fall at both Fun Fun Park and Kwomais Park. If you would like to put on the notification list, please email us here.
